Sri Lanka rested thier key players Murali and Vass in the Super 8 match with Australia. what is your opinion about that?

That was a wise decision. Loosing to Australia in Super 8 didn't mean anything if they could spend the same resources preparing for the next two crucial matches.
Good luck to Sri Lanka for the finals.

I agree. Anyone thinking otherwise should go thru the following articles

Good decision I think. Nobody likes to lose a game but SL have a pretty good chance of playing the Aussies in the finals and if that happens the Aussie batsmen won't have had any "practice" against Murali and Vaas. At the start of the tournament I predicted an Aus Vs NZ/SL final.

I think it was a genius move. It works on two levels.
Firstly Vaas, Murali and Malinga were given the oppurunity to get some much needed rest and make sure they were opperating at 100% prior to the elimination stages of the world cup.
Secondly Australia wasn't given the oppurunity to get some much needed practise/experience against bowlers who they haven't faced for over a year who each possess unique actions. Its the kind of bowling that you can't just practice against the bowling machine! Sure they may have previous video footage which they can study, but thats nothing compared to playing them firsthand.

I was a little dissapointed by Ian Chappell going overboard and asking the ICC to investigate sri lanka's actions in resting its players. Why should they?
What about the Aussies resting Gilchrist, Ponting, Lee etc etc against new zealand in the chappell hadlee series? should the ICC investigate this too?
I think Sangakkara was very right in his article. I think its a great move to have an unknown quantity going into the final against australia. Sri Lanka has given themselves the best opportunity to defeat the aussies, but after the australia v south africa semi final, the writing is really on the wall,, australia really looks to be invincible right now
